Tips to help you break your BANuary habit

Do all BANuary challenge habits have a cancer risk?

BANuary is about breaking a habit, choosing something you want to change and banning it for the month of January. Not all BANuary habits are connected to cancer risk. It is about setting a personal challenge for the month and raising funds for those affected by cancer.

What can I choose to BAN as by BANuary challenge habits?

Your BANuary challenge can be anything you like. It is about setting a personal challenge for the month and raising funds for those affected by cancer.

Options our past participants have chosen to challenge themselves to break during January have been alcohol, sugary drinks, fast food, Netflix, coffee, and Uber.

Although not all your BANuary bad habits have a cancer risk, whatever you choose to ban will help you create a healthier lifestyle.

Need help sticking to your BANuary challenge?

We've got you covered.

Although not all your BANuary bad habits have a cancer risk, whatever you choose to ban will help you create a healthier lifestyle.

To help you along the way, get the facts and read our tips and recipes on the Tips to Ban page.

Is your BANuary challenge sugary foods such as lollies, chocolate, cakes, sweet biscuits and chips?

Did you know: These foods are high in fat, sugar and salt. Eating too many of these foods leads to being overweight or obese. They also displace the healthy options.

Check out and try our healthy swaps to get you through the sugar cravings this BANuary.

What is a BAN PASS?

The idea of BANuary is to BAN your bad habit for an entire month. However, we understand January is often a month of socialising and special occasions. If one of these events pop up during January it’s possible to purchase a BAN PASS for either 24 or 48 hours

These passes allow you a day or two off from your challenge.

Of course, we strongly encourage you to stick with your new healthy habits (remember, new year, new you!).

How do I get a BAN PASS?

If you need a day or two off, there are two ways to get a BAN PASS.

You can purchase a BAN PASS for either 24 or 48 hours by following these three easy steps.

  1. Login to your dashboard
  2. Click the BAN PASSES tab
  3. Select the pass you need and make your purchase

OR you if you earn 7 BANuary Badges you will win a 24Hr BAN PASS for free.

Of course, we strongly encourage you to stick with your new healthy habits (remember, new year, new you!).
