HOW WE PUT YOUR
FUNDS TO WORK!
Every year in NSW alone, more than 48,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed, and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant. Cancer Council is the only charity to work across every area of every cancer, from research to prevention and support. We help people from the point of diagnosis through to treatment and survivorship.
Anouk banned Sugar
“Giving up sugar was really hard, but it made me feel like I could do something to help the people who were affected by cancer,” she said.
Anouk’s number 1 tip for fundraising success is:
“Put a photo of yourself and write your story on your page. Then when your friends see it they will know how much their donation means to you.”
Bianca banned sugar, alcohol and Uber
After her dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer, Bianca was motivated to raise funds for cancer research.
Bianca decided to tie in her 2018 new year’s resolutions of reducing her sugar and alcohol intake and not using Uber as an opportunity to fundraise for a good cause - and she felt great!
Bianca’s number 1 tip for fundraising success is:
She decided to match all donations!
Vy & Vinh banned their favourite snack
Vy (left) and her cousin Vinh (right) gave up their all time favourite snack for 40 days - CHIPS!
Whether it’s hot chips, crisps or fries, Vy and Vinh took on the challenge to test their willpower against the fried potato in honour of a close relative who was diagnosed with cancer.
These chip lovers raised $1,308 for a cancer free future!
